Or, Why I Don't Miss My Hair.

My parents kept me in a crew cut until college. When I first let it grow, my mother gently suggested that hair can be sold to mattress companies. Funny lady! Even though it was always hot in Houston, even when it was freezing, I had to let my hair grow to no-longer-fashionable length just because I could. The beard here is even worse. I never touch my beard now. I let Alfredo at the Clermont Barbershop trim it nicely every couple of weeks or so.

All this talk about hair is supposed to keep you from asking, "Why is that little girl wearing a head scarf? Or whatever it is." Can Miss G have been an unwitting victim of the Zardoz craze? I fear that it is so, even though the results are more Edith Sitwell than Charlotte Rampling.

WHAT a picture! A most fetching pair!

The family resemblance to a certain doctoral candidate is what most struck me about this foto.

I don't know what is more adorable – you or the little girl.

My first thought when I saw this, albeit without my glasses, was that this was a picture of Tim. Very Scary!!
But in any case, RJ did in fact have a red beard during part of lawschool, with a little blaze of white. Now it's the reverse, white with a little blaze of red. Still a great beard, due to the tender ministrations of his barber.

I have to say that I quite like the hair.

RJ, you and Tim do look alike. My mom agrees. Are we *entirely* sure you're adopted?

I reported to my Mother that rarely had I ever seen a Father and son look so much alike after RJ and his Father walked into our dorm room in boarding school eons ago........... and to my shock found out later on he was adopted. So the resemblance to our Ph.D. candidate is understandable..... well, sort of.......
