Ms Diski runs a moderately agreeable blog. She doesn't post very often, but when she does, the news is news. How about a red-brick university's taking To The Lighthouse off the syllabus because it's "too difficult"?

I think the way education is going "See Spot Run" will eventually be considered too difficult. I am so happy I got an education that required that I stretch myself. I hope that the anti-intellectual trend ends in my lifetime, but I'm not holding my breath.
