Well, too long and too well I've known you to believe that you are inflexible. You have strong preferences but you are not disinclined to hear or taste alternatives. Hebrew National is in my experience the best dog ever. Next to these dogs my real favorite is a good Bratwurst and that should be boiled in good heavy dark beer or Guiness and then quickly grilled over and open mesquite, pecan, oak or hickory fire. Top splits are great when you can find them but any bread will do, regular hot dog buns, split French segments, and of course my favorite long Pumpernickel buns. Brown spiced mustard is required. And in my opinion - here you will recoil I'm sure - the full dress Chicago style dog or brat is the very best, especially with a nice bright lager beer.
