The divorcé ban seems hard to believe. Is this another British press story with little basis in fact? I mean, yes, GWB is a far-right reactionary, but there are plenty of openly divorced far-right reactionaries.

I suspect Max is correct. I occasionally read the Mirror when we lived in London and found it only slightly more credible than the National Enquiror. I've seen nothing in either the London Times or the Daily Telegraph along these lines (although I suppose one could say that neither of those newspapers, being of a more conservative bent, would bother to report the story, if true).
